The Helping Hand Society will meet Friday, Oct. 31, with Mrs. Minnie Green.

Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach will be hostess to the Women’s Guild of the Ev. and Reformed church Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Mrs. Ida Schiszik was surprised by relatives at her home in the village Saturday evening. Mrs. Schiszik recently moved from her farm.

Mrs. Ole Gilbertson and Mrs. Sam Iverson of Taylor visited Sunday with Mrs. Martha Harmel.

Mrs. A. M. Erickson, Billy and Dorothy Geary spent Tuesday with the former’s sister in Westby.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias and son of Ashland spent the week-end with their mother, Mrs. Frank Matthias.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Thompson drove to Stevens Point Sunday to spend the day with their daughter, Dorothy, who is a student at the Wisconsin State College.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken spent the week-end in Minneapolis with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lokken.

Mrs. Jas. Skinner of Bloomington is visiting her son, Wayne Olson, and family.

Mrs. E. M. Peterson left Friday for Madison to spend the week with her son, Art Peterson, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Bud Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bakke, Mrs. Ethel Bowen and Mrs. Theo. Thompson spent Sunday at Menomonie with the latter’s sisters.

Mrs. Ted Frane, Mrs. Art Frane of Athens, Mrs. Matt Aller of Colby and their father, Charles Kniess of Wausau, left Thursday for Missouri to visit Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kniess and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Selinski and family of Bruce visited her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken, during the past week.

Mr. and Mrs. George Hoff visited Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Louis Boardman, and family at Thorp.

Pvt. Howard Frane, who spent a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Frane, left October 19 for California to report for overseas duty. He entered service in April, 1952, and received his training at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
