Powell, Rev. William P. #2 (1876 - MAY 1948)

Owen, Clark Co., Wis. - Funeral services for the Rev. W.P. Powell, 72, former pastor of the Owen Congregational Church, who died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.N. Hoeper, Chicago, were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Congregational Church. The Rev. W. Myron Glick officiated and burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.

The Rev. Mr. Powell had been in ill health for several years, having retired from the pastorate of the Phelps Congregational Church and the Union Congregation Church in 1945 for that reason. Her served at Phillips for 8 ½ years after being pastor of the local church for almost 12 years, from 1925 to 1936.

He was born at Elsinore, Ontario, Canada, March 23, 1876. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. E.N. Hoeper, Chicago; one son, Aubrey, Phelps; and one grandchild.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Robert Hillmer and Mrs. William White, Southampton, Ontario; the Rev. Aubrey H. Powell, Hamilton, Ontario; and Hilton Powell, Los Angeles, Calif.
