Ristow, Jane (Marriage - 29 Dec. 1952)

Miss Jane Ristow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ristow, of the town of Rib Mountain, Wis., and Arnold Apfelbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Apfelbeck of the town of Hull, Wis., exchanged marriage vows in Holy Name Catholic church in Wausau Monday, Dec. 29, Rev. Lloyd Geissler officiating.

Miss Shirley Ristow was the maid of honor and Miss Agnes Apfelbeck and Miss Carol Nielson were bridesmaids. Little Judy Ristow served as flower girl. The groom was attended by Raymond Mueller as best man and Jerry Ohlinger and John Apfelbeck as groomsmen.

The wedding breakfast was served the bridal party at the Ristow home and lunch was served the immediate relatives there. About 300 guests attended the reception and supper in the afternoon at the Youth Center Hall in Wausau. A dance was held at the River Ballroom near Marathon. After a wedding trip to Chicago, the couple are now residing in Abbotsford, Wis.

Her father, Daniel, was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm Ristow/William Ristow. William was the son of Rosine Semerau & Daniel Ristau. There was a surname change after Daniel Ristau and family came to Marathon County in 1858. Daniel Ristau died on Sherman's March through Georgia in 1864.

I have traced the Rosine Semerau line all the way back to 1758 in West Prussia, I have her birth and marriage records as well.
