Fink, Louis (21 July 1879 - 24 Apr. 1953)

Funeral services for Louis J. Fink, who died at 1:00 A.M. Friday, April 24, at his home in Colby, Wisconsin after an illness of three and one-half years with old age complications, were held Sunday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church of Colby, Wis., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Walter Wiersig, Herman Syring, Emil Laabs, Frank Marquardt, Oscar Dix and Art Nagel. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Merlin Schjoneman and Janice, Karen and Margo Schjoneman.

Mr. Fink was born in Milwaukee on July 21, 1879, thus reaching the age of 73 years, nine months and two days. He came to this locality at the age of three years with his parents, and after receiving his education, he engaged in carpenter work and operated threshing machines for many years. He married Ida Wiegman at St. Paul’s Lutheran church on June 27, 1903.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Walter Fink of Colby; two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Mabel) Schulz of Colby and Mrs. Roland (Lucille) Haas of Abbotsford; eight grand children. His parents, three brothers, three sisters, a son and a daughter preceded him in death.

The deceased was well known as a kind and considerate husband and father, an upright and honest citizen and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Christ Fink of Racine, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roth of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Louis Kauffman and Allen of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Wiegman and Dennis of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stecker of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Edblom and Mrs. Martha Rahn of Unity, Wis.
