Smith, Lloyd J. (10 Dec. 1896 - 2 May 1953)

Lloyd J. Smith, age 56, died in the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Saturday at 8:00 P.M., a stroke, suffered Friday morning, being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church in Colby, Wis. Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Military rites were conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Smith was born on December 10, 1896, in Darlington. His marriage to Miss Birdie Erickson took place at Chippewa Falls on September 16, 1920. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was overseas with the Red Arrow Division. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Abbotsford, Wis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Homer, of Colby, a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Hazel) Pacholke of Madison; three brothers, Homer of Marshfield, Chester of Loyal and Philip of Spencer, and a sister, Mrs. Earl Zastrow of Hawkins.
