Smith, Jacob F. (1865 - 27 Nov. 1953)

Jacob F. Smith, father of Rev. Frederick J. Smith, a former pastor of the Colby Methodist church, died of a heart attack at the age of 88 years Friday morning at the Bethel Convalescent Home, where he had been living the past two years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Colby Methodist church, Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Charles Schulz, Gust Brehm, Harry Bender, C. A. Nelsen, Frank Goeltz and George Wicker.

Mr. Smith lived most of his life in Philadelphia until 1947 when he and his wife came to Colby to make their home with their son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Frederick J. Smith. Rev. Smith and his family moved to Pepin in 1951. Mrs. Jacob F. Smith died on November 28, 1951.
