Groh, Mrs. John (8 JAN 1867 - 15 MAR 1941)

Mrs. John Groh, Sr., passed away at her home in the Township of Sherman on Saturday, March 15th after a week’s illness. Cause of her death was a stroke.

Mrs. Groh was born in Germany Jan. 8, 1867. She was united in marriage on Aug. 15, 1880 to John Groh in Germany. In 1892, she came with her husband to Milwaukee where they lived until 1919 when they moved to the Town of Sherman where they have since lived.

The deceased was a member of the Christ, the King Catholic Church in Spencer and the Christian Mothers Society.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, five sons, John, Jr., of Waukesha, Gust of Edeville, Oregon, Charles of Spencer, and Rudolph and Edward at home. Also three daughters, Margaret at Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Simon (Catherine) Gebbhardt and Suzanne both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She also leaves one sister in Detroit, Mich. and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 18th from Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer, Rev. Joseph Groh officiating and burial was made at Elm Grove, Wis.

Pallbearers were Geo. Weyhmiller, William Weis, Alfred Vanderhoof, Paul Vanderhoof, Harry DeGraw, and Robert Haslow.
