Steffen, Eulalie M. (6 JUL 1918 - 25 APR 1941)

Eulalie M. Steffen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Steffen, Town of Beaver, died shortly before midnight, Friday, April 25, 1941, at the age of 22 years, 9 months, and 19 days. She had been confined to her bed for the past nine months because of a heart ailment, and had not been well since an operation a year and one half ago.

Miss Steffen was born in the Town of Beaver, July 6, 1918, and had lived in that vicinity most of her life, attending the rural school near her home. She was a member of the Ripplinger Lutheran Church, being confirmed August 8, 1937.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Steffen home at 1 o’clock, and at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ripplinger, with the Rev. Franklin Albrecht in charge.

The hymns, "In the Garden" and "Asleep in Jesus", were sung by Miss Ramona Domer, Mrs., Ruth Schuette, and Miss Bertha Hardrath.

The flower girls were Louise Boettcher, Aurelia Boettcher, Susie Simmons, Selma Sell, Lula Snyder, and Sophie Bandi.

The pall bearers were Fred Jensen, Charles Wittlinger, Glen Clouse, Walter Boettcher, Albert Boettcher, and Kenneth Simmons.

Interment was in the Beaver Cemetery.

Besides her parents she is survived by six sisters, Miss Helen, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Wittlinger, and Misses Rose, Caroline, Iris and Alaire, and two brothers, Emil Jr., and Harry all of the Town of Beaver.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Wm. Schmerse, Mrs. Bertha Bandi and sons John, Alex, and Fred, Miss Lula Snyder, Mr. John Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zentner and son, Mr. Ernest Hahn, Miss Martha Hahn, Mr. Charlie Hahn, Mrs. Fred Wellman, and Miss Frieda Streait, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jensen, Mrs. Elmer Schulter, and Mrs. Mae Fredlund, Wisconsin Rapids; and Mr. Leo Beucher and Mr. Charles Beucher, Postville, Iowa.
