Schultz, Louise (12 Nov. 1880 - 25 Feb. 1954)

Mrs. Louise Schultz died suddenly of a heart attack last Thursday evening at her home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 73 years. She became ill shortly before six o’clock but the help of a physician was of no avail and at 8:00 o’clock she went to sleep as a tired child. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home at 1:00 o’clock and at Zion Lutheran church at 1:30, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Mrs. Howard Rannow, accompanied by Mrs. Woodrow Tesmer on the piano, sang "In The Garden" and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought." Mrs. Lawrence Priem served as organist. Pall bearers were nephews - Robert Ebert, Roger Staffeil, Arthur Wiersig, Allen Dins, Rudy Dins and Fred Dins. Flowers were carried by Miss Evelyn Wiersig, Mrs. Gary Schmidt, Mrs. John Bowen, Mrs. Lawrence Koffarnus, Mrs. Lawrence Krueger, Miss Elsie Schultz, Mrs. Harlowe Hibbard and Mrs. Kenneth Schulz.

Mrs. Schultz, formerly Louise Dins, was born on November 12, 1880, in the town of Colby, and was married in Colby, Wisconsin on April 10, 1902, to August Schultz. For several years, they lived in the Spencer and Dorchester areas where Mr. Schultz operated cheese factories. They came to Colby 42 years ago. Mr. Schultz died on November 19, 1915.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R. H. (Malinda) Markus of Colby and Mrs. Theodore (Esther) Ketterl of Marshfield; two brothers, Otto and Albert Dins; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Staffeil, Mrs. Walter Wiersig and Mrs. William Ebert, Jr., all of Colby; four grandchildren, JoAnne and David Markus and Paul and Carole Lou Ketterl.

Out of town friends and relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Krueger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Neuman, Miss Elsie Schultz and Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Rasmussen, all of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schwantes and family and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schauer of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Burnett of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Vircks of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Koffarnus and Robert Ebert of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Lenhart Wiersig of Anoka, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Len Gruber and Mr. and Mrs. James Kress of Park Falls, Andrew Ketterl, Jr., and Mrs. Andrew Ketterl, Sr., of Butternut, Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Dins of Edgar, Mrs. Alice Vetterkind of Withee, Mrs. Clarence Nelson of Curtiss, Otto Dins of Fond du Lac and Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Markus of Medford.

Mrs. Schultz was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran church and the Sewing Circle of that congregation and was especially active in church affairs. Being of an honest and congenial disposition, she had many friends, who, besides the members of her family and relatives, will miss her, for all realized that after a long, busy and useful life she died as she had lived - honored, trusted and loved.
