Hagenson, Martin (5 APR 1860 – 18 NOV 1941)

Martin Hagenson was born April 5th, 1860 in Loiten Hedemarken, Norway, and passed away at his home here Tuesday, Nov. 18th, 1941, after a few months illness. He came to this country in 1882 and was married to Mary Romfoe in 1892 and has resided in the town of Colburn since.

Nine children were born to them, an infant twin son preceded him in death. The other eight children, along with his 17 grandchildren and wife, are left to mourn his loss. The children were all here for the funeral but John, who lives in the State of Washington. They are as follows: Otto of Cudahy, (Clara) Mrs. Richard Mahoney of Neenah; (Martha) Mrs. Clyde Ewers and (Mable) Mrs. Sam Dull of Soldiers Grove; Henry of the Town of Colburn and Albert and Elmer at home, also of Colburn.

Funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the house and 3:00 o’clock from St. John’s Lutheran Church here, Rev. Thompson of Cornell officiating.

The pallbearers were William Quesness, William Mattes, Axel Berg, Holstonson Holstonson, Herbert Donner and Ed Erickson.

He was laid to rest beside his son in St. John’s Cemetery here.

A very large crowd attended the services.
