Theodore 'Ted' Huber

Spencer, Wis. -- Theodore "Ted" Huber, 91, of Spencer, Wisconsin died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services are pending at Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer Chapel (formerly Community Funeral Home).

Theodore 'Ted' Huber

Spencer, Wis. -- Theodore O. "Ted" Huber, 91, of Spencer, Wisconsin died Feb. 7, 2008, with his family by his side at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor, Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at the Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer Chapel (formerly Community Funeral Home). The Rev. Karl Rose will officiate. Burial will be in the West Spencer Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Huber was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Spencer, a son of Wenzel and Amelia (Stelzel) Huber. Ted was born on the Huber family farm and lived there his entire life.

Theodore was united in marriage to the former Alice Walti on June 18, 1938.

Mr. Huber was employed at Land O'Lakes Inc. as a cheese grader and warehouse manager for 43 years.

Theodore was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Huber was also a proud member of the Spencer Fire Department, from the time he was 17 years old, serving for nearly 45 years.

Some of Ted's interests included gardening, fishing, playing cards, bowling, watching baseball and tending to his farm in Spencer.

Mr. Huber is lovingly survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice; two sons, Dennis (Linda) Huber, Chetek, and Richard (Mary Ann) Huber, Madison; three grandchildren, Scott (Cathy) Huber and Steven (Michelle) Huber, both of Wausau, and Julie (Allen) Mueller, Andover, Minn. Theodore is further survived by six great-grandchildren, Lindsey Mueller, Sara, Zachariah, Ryan, Amanda and Ava Huber; a step-grandchild, Kacy (Andy) McRae; a step-great-grandchild, Amber Hrobsky; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Draeven and Dezaray; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Mr. Huber's memory are encouraged to do so to the Spencer Fire Department.

The Huber family would like to thank the staff of Golden Living Center-Continental Manor, for the compassion and care Ted received.
