Pagel, William D. (31 JUL 1928 - 23 MAR 1942)

William Donald Pagel, 13, son of Mrs. Wm. Pagel of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), died at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday morning, March 23, 1942, of peritonitis.

The whole community was shocked when it learned of the sudden death of this youth who had been sick about a week. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday and given a blood transfusion the same day.

William was born on July 31, 1928 and had reached the age of 13 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was in the eighth grade at the Colby School in Reseburg.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hattie Page, one brother, James, at home; two sisters, Pearl, at home, and Mrs. Clarence Fisher of the village. His father died in March 1935.

The body lies in state at the Izydorek Funeral Parlors until the time of the funeral which will be held this morning (Thursday) at nine o’clock at St. Bernard’s Church, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery.
