Holtzhausen, Augusta (4 July 1880 - 10 Apr. 1955)

Mrs. Carl Holtzhausen died at the General Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, Sunday at the age of 75 years, 10 months and six days, complications of many years duration being the cause of her death. Funeral services are being held this Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock at the Methodist church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers are C. A. Nelsen, Frank Goeltz, Frank Marquardt, Victor Dallman, John Engeldinger and Harry Bender.

Mrs. Holtzhausen, nee Augusta S. Krepsky, was born in the town of Mosel, Sheboygan county, on July 4th, 1880, and came to Colby in 1892 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Krepsky, who operated a hardware store here. She married Carl Holtzhausen in Colby, Wis.

Surviving are her husband; three children, Erma Holtzhausen of Nashville, Tenn., Alvin Holtzhausen of Abbotsford and Mrs. Spencer (Ethel) Wallace of Madison; one sister, Miss Hattie Krepsky of Colby, and two grand children, Shirley and David Holtzhausen.

Mrs. Holtzhausen did not care to spend much time in social affairs and gay parties but loved and lived for her family. She was respected and liked by all who knew her for her fine Christian character and kindly disposition.
