Pacholke, William C. (5 Nov. 1893 - 26 May 1955)

Funeral services for William C. Pacholke, whose death was chronicled last week, were held at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church last Sunday afternoon, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. S. L. Loos officiated at the Masonic services at the grave. The V.F.W. firing squad fired the salute and Stuart Hunt sounded taps. The pall bearers were Oscar Carlson, C. A. Nelsen, Ted Baumgart, George Carr, Frank Goeltz and R. H. Markus.

Flowers were in charge of Patricia Johnson, Patricia Blanchard, Arlene Baumgart, Audrey Baumgart, Adell Brehm, Elaine Gierl, Jeanne Tesmer, Mary Primeau, Alice Sedlack, Donna Allmann, all of Colby, and Shirley Holtzhausen of Abbotsford, Wis.

Marvin Schnabel sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "Going Home." Miss Rena Bauer was the organist.

Mr. Pacholke was born in Colby, Wisconsin on November 5, 1893, thus reaching the age of 61 years, six months and 21 days. He was first employed by the Colby Telephone Co., and then several years by the late Hugo Krepsky and E. D. Loos. He then went into the plumbing business in Colby, but, shortly after World War II, accepted a position with the Badger Electric of Wausau which position he held until the time of his death. He served Colby as alderman, supervisor, mayor and fireman. He married Matilda Pacholke, daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha Pacholke, on June 9, 1920, in Colby, Wis. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Colby, The American Legion, E.F.U. and R.N.A. He served in the U.S. army during World War I.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Wm. F. Pacholke of Colby; two daughters, Mrs. C. A. Cobb of Minneapolis, Minn., and Miss Yvonne Pacholke of Colby; six grand children. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pacholke, preceded him in death.

Mr. Pacholke will be long remembered by his friends as a courteous and obliging husband, father and neighbor who always endeavored to perform every duty - to his God, his country, his family, his neighbor and himself - honestly, faithfully and well.
