Weller, Fred Gustav (10 July 1878 - 4 Sept. 1955)

Fred Gustav Weller of the town of Hull, Wisconsin died at the Marshfield Hospital Sunday night, Sept. 4, at 10:00 P.M., at the age of 77 years, a stroke being the cause of his death. He was taken to the hospital on August 19 for treatment for a heart ailment and suffered a stroke September 1. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Weller was born in Germany on July 10, 1878, and came to the United States with his parents when three years of age, coming directly to the town of Hull. This was practically all woodland at the time but his parents, by hard and diligent work, built a fine farm. On December 28, 1911, he married Katherina Fenzel in Colby, and, after their marriage, engaged in farming. They lived in the town of Hull except two years near Dorchester, one year at Atwood and one year near Loyal.

Surviving are four daughters, Miss Elsie Weller of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Henry (Erna) Hoffman of Stratford, Mrs. Card (Dorothy) Ryberg of Corona, N. Mex., and Mrs. John (Hilda) Kastorff, of Fond du Lac; one son, George Weller of the town of Hull; two brothers, Louie Weller of Colby and William Weller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Weller and an infant son, who died in infancy, preceded him in death.

Mr. Weller was well and favorably known in this community, honest in all his dealings, of an industrious disposition and always endeavored to perform his duties to the best of his abilities.
