Beck, Lyle F. (1909? - June 1931)

BITE OF INSECT KILLS SOLDIER

Private Lyle F. Beck, Battery "E" 120th Field Artillery, Wisconsin Guard, from Wisconsin Rapids was bitten on the chin by an unidentified insect resulting in edema of the glottis. Immediate evacuation was made to St. Mary’s Hospital, Sparta, Wisconsin where a tracheotomy was immediately performed by the medical staff of that hospital.

The death of Private Beck occurred the same day he was evacuated.
