Juzwiak, Helen (25 JUN 1942)

On Saturday morning, June 25th, 1942, at 9 o’clock, Miss Helen Juzwiak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Juzwiak of the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Edward Panek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Panek, of Chicago. The wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church, Rev. S.R. Lengowski officiating.

The church was beautifully decorated with an arrangement of red and white flowers on the altars and palm trees lining the aisle in V-shape. The church aisle floor was covered with a white rug.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a simple designed gown of mousseline de soie with a deep neckline and softly draped bodice. The full skirt which swept into a long train was richly edged at the hemline with lace and the bishop sleeves were gathered tightly at the wrists. Her tiara of seeded pearls held a full tulle veil. Her bouquet was of orchids with bouvardia and stephanotis.

A sister of the bride, Mrs. Frank Wojtkiewicz, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Violet Juzwiak, Loraine Salinski, Eleanor Chesholm, Ann Kuchner, Lucille Wojtkiewicz, and Marcella Piwoni. They wore frocks of white marquisette over taffeta, attractively designed with bodice of stardust starched chiffon, sweetheart neckline and slim fitting midriff. Their white tulle victory headdresses were sprinkled with stardust and the crown was of red and white flowers. Red roses and white asters made up their bouquets. All wore crosses, which were gifts of the bride. The patriotic colors, red, white and blue, which were carried by the bridesmaids gave color to an otherwise all-white wedding.

The flower girls, Roslyn Wojtkiewicz and Dolores Dombroski, wore white picture hats and dresses similar to those of the bridesmaids. Their flowers were blue and white, miniatures of the maid of honor’s bouquet.

Anton Panek, brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were Malen Juzwiak, Frank Juzwiak, Thomas Piwoni, Harry Olejnik and Edward Lenczenski. The groom and ushers wore white coats, black trousers, maroon ties and white handkerchiefs and white boutonnieres.

From the church the guests went to a reception to the couple at the American Legion Hall, where dinner and supper were served. The flower decorations were given to the bride by friends.

Mrs. Walter Juzwiak received her guests in a blue lace dress. The ….(the rest of my copy was cut off)
