Curtiss, Wis. - Nov. 17, 1949

Mrs. Emily Mervin of Abbotsford called on her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hennlich, Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tonn and son, Jimmy, left Saturday to visit relatives in Appleton.

Mrs. Anthony Hennlich, County Supervisor, went to Neillsville to attend the fall session of the county board.

The Helping Hand Society of the Congregational church will meet on Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ed. Olson.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and families of Stetsonville spent the weekend at the Jacob Johnson home.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ankney and son of Montana called on friends here Thursday. Mr. Ankney’s parents were former residents here.

Miss Nellie Sharp and Mrs. Blanche Allard spent Sunday at Abbotsford and Stevens Point.

Arvid Hermanson of Brook, Ind., who was operated at St. Joseph’s hospital, returned Sunday and is now staying with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermanson.

Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardwell and daughter of LaCrosse spent the week end visiting Mrs. Wardwell’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Erickson.

The Ladies’ Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss, met at the home of Mrs. Herman Klocke. At the business meeting, new officers were elected: Mrs. Fred Miller, president; Mrs. Wm. Jakel, vice president; Mrs. Vilas Luescher, secretary; Mrs. John McCorrison, treasurer.

The Women’s Guild of Peace Ev. and Reformed church met at the home of Mrs. Edwin Strade. Two new officers were elected: Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach, vice president; and Mrs. Wm. Anderson, secretary.

A minstrel show, given by the Abbotsford high school students, will be sponsored by the Curtiss P.T.A. Wednesday Eve., Nov. 23, at the Curtiss village hall. Admission price: grade school pupils, 15c; high school students, 25c; adults, 50c.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jens of Owen visited at the home of Mrs. Jens’ brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller.

Mrs. Lottie Neuman left the first part of the week for Manitowoc to visit with her daughter and family.

Fred Miller was taken to Medford hospital for treatment.
