Lewis, Sam J. (1873 - 25 Mar. 1949)

Sam J. Lewis, a resident of Abbotsford the past 24 years, died at his home in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, Friday at 4:45 p.m. at the age of 75 years. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, where the body had been lying in state, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. H. Sprengler, pastor of the Christ Lutheran church of Abbotsford, officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Mr. Lewis was born in Pennsylvania in 1873. His first wife, the former Addie L. Busch, died in 1912. In 1933, he married Verna Benz of Colby, Wis.

Surviving are his widow; three sons by his first marriage, Lester of Burbank, Calif., Earl of Montesane, Wash., and George of Omaha, Neb., and three sons by his second marriage, James, Robert and David, all at home.
