Klessig, Christ (22 Apr. 1861 - 20 Apr. 1949)

Christ Klessig of Curtiss passed away early Wednesday morning, April 20, at the age of 85 years at the home of his daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Kobs, the old home farm. He had been an invalid the past ten years following a stroke but was able to be up every day until last Sunday. The body will be at the home from Friday to Saturday noon when it will be brought to the Peace Ev. and Reformed church where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Franz Puhlmann officiating, and burial will be made in Pine Hill cemetery.

The deceased was born on April 22, 1861, in Morel, Sheboygan county. On Nov. 3, 1891, he was married to Cardine Schliemann at Rantaul, Calumet county. The family moved to Hoard in 1902.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Alma) Marquardt of Rothschild; Mrs. Alfred (Dorothy) Mandel of Colby, Mrs. Hugo (Ella) Kobs of Curtiss, five sons, Albert and William of Curtiss, Helmuth of Louisburg, Tenn., Harold of Colby and Raymond of Adak, Alaska. There are 13 grand children and four great grand children.
