Mahoney, Margaret H. (23 MAY 1942)

Miss Margaret Helen Mahoney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilburt J. Mahoney of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Emery Marion Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Erickson of Longwood (Clark Co.), in a ceremony performed last Saturday morning in the parish house of St. Bernard’s Church at Abbotsford, Father Charles D. Brady officiating.

The bride chose for the ceremony a street length ensemble of beige crepe and coat of green, with green accessories. She wore a corsage of orcids and carried a rosary from the mission of Capistrano, a gift from her mother. She also wore a double strand of pearls, a gift from the groom. Her only attendant, janet Mahoney Wilson, sister of the bride, wore a Victory blue crepe afternoon frock with navy blue accessories. Her corsage was made up of gardenias.

Louis Gruszynski, brother-in-law of the groom acted as best man. The groom and best man were attired in brown gabardine sits with boutonnieres of gardenias.

Present at the ceremony were the mothers of the bridal couple, Mrs. Mahoney wearing a cinnamon brown crepe ensemble with turf tan accessories and a corsage of tea roses and lilies of the valley, and Mrs. Erickson dressed in beige crepe with British tan accessories and also wearing a corsage of tea roses and lilies of the valley.

Following the wedding, a 12:30 reception and breakfast were held at the Hotel Woodland fro the relatives and close friends of the couple, about 50 guests being present.

The table decorations were carried out in pink with roses, peonies and a profusion of spring flowers. Crystal candelabra with tall cathedral candles were on each side of the three tiered wedding cake. Father Charles Brady and W.W. Kidd acted as maters of ceremony.

Out of town guest included L.T. Pond and Mrs. Helen Charles, aunt and uncle of the bride, Misses Bertha and Jane Hogan of Eau Claire; Miss Margaret Babbitt, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wendt of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bahr of Wausau; and Mr. and Mrs. Eban Ketchpaw of Greenwood.

Following the reception, the bride and groom motored to Eagle River and the Minocqua Lakes where they will spend their honeymoon. Both the bride and were graduates of the Owen High School. They will reside in Withee.
