Hansen, Pearl (29 MAY 1942)

Sgt. Eugene H. Schafer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schafer of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and Miss Pearl Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.P.C. Hansen of Withee, were united in marriage at Champaign, Ill., on Friday, May 29, 1942.

The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Northcott and took place in the First Methodist Church in Champaign.

The groom was attended by Staff Sgt. Carl W. Johnson of Shenandoah, Ia. Both the groom and attendants wore military uniforms and each had a white carnation.

The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Grace Hansen of Withee. The bride was attired in a beige suit with white accessories and wore a corsage of white roses. The bridesmaid wore a blue suit with white accessories and wore a corsage of pink carnations. The bride is spending the next few weeks with her husband in Champaign and will then return home until he is permanently assigned.
