Kozik, Etta Elaga (Marriage - 17 June 1950)

Miss Etta Elaga Kozik of Chicago, Ill., daughter of Mrs. Emma Kozik of Vining, Iowa, and Frederick A. Dins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dins of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in a double-ring ceremony at Zion Lutheran church in Colby Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by three sisters, Miss Viola Kozik of Chicago as maid of honor and Mrs. Alvin Wiegman of Chicago, her twin sister, and Mrs. Robert Dwors of Cleveland, Ohio, as bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother, Rudy Dins, as best man, and his cousins Edward Frome and Dr. Donald Wiersig. The groom’s niece, Artis Schauer, was flower girl.

For her wedding, the bride chose lace over a heavy satin entrained gown styled with a tight fitting bodice, high scalloped neckline, long sleeves coming to points over the wrists and an imported lace peplum starting from the front and tapering to floor length in back. Her finger-tip veil fell from a lace and pearl trimmed sweetheart bonnet tiara. Her cascade bouquet was composed of white roses, carnations and sweet peas.

The maid of honor was attired in a heavy white marquisette over pink satin with a fitted bodice, full skirt and a cape effect collar with appliquéd flowers detailed her gown. A pink hat, matching mitts and a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations completed her ensemble. The bridesmaids wore white over blue and yellow, respectively. Their gowns were styled like the maid of honor’s. They carried bouquets of peach and yellow roses with white and blue carnations. The flower girl wore a white gown styled the same as the other attendants and carried a basket of assorted flowers. Mrs. Kozik attended her daughter’s wedding attired in a navy sheer dress while the groom’s mother wore a heavy print dress. White accessories and corsages of pink roses and carnations were chosen by both mothers.

A five o’clock dinner was served for the immediate families at Hotel Charles and a reception followed at the Otto Dins residence in Colby, Wis. A dance was held in the evening at Walter’s pavilion.

Relatives from Cleveland, Ohio; Vining, Iowa; Cicero and Waukegan, Ill., Loyal, Greenwood, Owen and Marshfield came here for the wedding.

The bride had been employed for the past five years at the General Corporation in Chicago and the groom is engaged in farming in the town of Colby, Wis. The couple left on a trip to Yellowstone Park and other points in the west and will be at home to friends on their farm when they return.
