Morgan, Mary (13 May 1876 - 8 Mar. 1950)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Morgan, who died at the Maryhaven Home for the aged at Wilmette, Ill., at the age of 73 years, as reported last week, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Monday morning, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Tony Will, Frank Will, Ed Feit, C. J. Kraus, Orville Schultz and N. L. Dessloch.

Mrs. Morgan, nee Mary Harry, was born at Two Rivers on May 13, 1876, and, at the age of one, moved onto a farm seven miles west of Unity. She taught school for several years and was married to W. E. Morgan on Aug. 11, 1904. Her husband died April 3, 1945. Mrs. Morgan had been confined to her bed since she suffered a stroke in Colby in 1946. She entered the home in Willmette in 1947 where she suffered a second stroke several days [misprint in paper omitted several lines] grand children also survive. Besides her husband, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Maurice of Libertyville, Ill., and Roger, of Chicago, Illinois, five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Schramm of Glencow, Ill., Mrs. Emma Groelle and Miss Alma Harry of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Rose Tennis of Unity and Mrs. Margaret Orth of Colby; three brothers, Emil Harry of Los Angeles, Calif., William Harry of Colby and Lewis Harry of Marshfield. Six grand children also survive.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Elizabeth Mais of Medford, Maurice Morgan of Libertyville, Ill., Mrs. Rosa Tennis, Bernard Tennis, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tennis, Mrs. Bert Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. John Schaller, Mrs. Theresa Rueden and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Schultz of Unity.
