Lindner, Fred (25 Nov. 1861 - 3 Dec. 1950)

Fred Lindner, retired Soo Line section foreman, died at his home in Colby Sunday morning at 6:00 o’clock, old age complications being the cause of his death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers are O. J. Dix, Albert Dins, Paul Draeger, Paul Poklallus, W. F. Schwantes and Frank Sill.

The deceased was born in East Prussia, Germany, November 25, 1861, thus reaching the age of 89 years and eight days. He came to the United States in 1881 and lived in Plymouth until 1882 when he came to this locality. He married Pauline Pagel at Dorchester on September 8th, 1889. They came to Colby in 1900 and then lived at Medford and Dorchester for several years, coming back to Colby in 1910.

Surviving are his widow and two children - Mrs. C. F. Courtney of Orlando, Fla., and Arthur Lindner of Colby, Wis. One child died in infancy. There are four grand children - Lois Ann Courtney and Charles F. Courtney of Orlando, Fla., Cpl, Arlo A. Lindner of San Angels, Texas, and Bobby Lindner of Colby, Wis.

The deceased, like all early settlers, was of a generous disposition, honest in all his dealings, who always endeavored to perform his duties to the best of his abilty.
