Rueben Frome

Rueben H. Frome, 77, of Marshfield died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. The Rev. Tricia Turner will officiate. Private family interment of ashes will be in the Brooklawn Memory Garden Cemetery, Marshfield.

Visitation for friends and family will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Hansen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rueben was born March 21, 1930, at home in the town of Colby to Theodore and Loella (Tesmer) Frome. He was educated at rural Sandhill School (K-7), the Lutheran Parochial in Colby (8th-grade) and graduated from Colby High School in 1948. After graduation, Mr. Frome was employed at Berg Implement. He was employed for a period at Felker's 24-hour Gas Station where he did mechanical work.

On September 23, 1950, at the Lutheran Church in Nasonville, Rueben and the former Mae Ellen Baumgartner were united in holy marriage. In 1953, Rueben purchased a milk route, hauling for Clover Cream Dairy until his retirement in 1997, a period of 44 years.

Mr. Frome was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield, serving and holding positions on various boards with the church. Rueben was a longtime member of the Midwest Milk Haulers Association, enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles, was an avid bowler and played softball until he was 66. He also was a proficient sheepshead player in retirement.

Rueben is lovingly survived by his wife of 57 years, Mae, and children, Kathlynn (John) Andersen of Chippewa Falls, Dennis Frome of Marshfield and David (Brenda) Frome of Tomahawk. Mr. Frome is further survived by five grandchildren, Kristin and Megan Andersen, Danielle and Luke Frome and Tanya (Shad) Tenpas; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jade, Jared, Justin and Jonah; one sister, Janet Hardy of El Cajon, Calif., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His parents and two children, John and Nancy Frome, preceded Rueben in death.
