Orth, Margaret (20 Mar. 1884 - 19 Sept. 1951)

Mrs. Margaret Orth died of a heart ailment Wednesday morning, Sept. 19, at 7:30 A.M. at the home of her son, Harry, at Adams. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wisconsin where the Christian Mothers will hold a rosary this Thursday evening at 8:00 o’clock. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday morning at 9:30 A.M.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Orth were held Saturday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were A. M. Steinwand, C. J. Kraus, John Engeldinger, Tony Will, Edward Becker and A. J. Kriplean. Flowers were in charge of Ann Steinwand, Sandra Steinwand, Catherine Steinwand, Bernadette Engeldinger, Patsy Blanchard, and Barbara Steinwand.

Mrs. Orth, nee Margaret Harry, was born in Unity on March 20, 1884. She married Matt Orth in Colby, Wisconsin on June 20, 1906, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1940.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Pat (Ruby) Donahue of Upland, Ind., a son, Harry Orth of Adams, three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Schramm of Glencoe, Ill., Mrs. Rose Tennis and Miss Alma Harry of Colby; three brothers, Emil Harry of Los Angeles, Calif., Louis Harry of Marshfield and William Harry of Colby; and six grand children. Two children preceded her in death.

Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Orth and family of Adams, Mrs. Pat Donahue of Upland, Ind., Lewis Harry and Tom Tuttle of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Tennis and daughter, Arlene, of Kimberly, Arthur and William Schramm of Glencoe, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tennis, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Tennis and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Davis of Unity, Mrs. George Orth of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marsh of Manitowoc, Mrs. Kate McKennon and Oscar Johnson of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Leon Steinwand and family of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lemke and Mrs. Eva Young of Loyal.

Mrs. Orth was a faithful member of St. Mary’s congregation and the Christian Mother’s Society and always endeavored to perform her duties honestly and well. She died as she had lived - honored, trusted and loved.
