Groves, Orlo D. (15 JUN 1932 - 7 MAR 2013)

Orlo D. Groves, 80, Birnamwood, died on Thursday, March 7 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Schmidt and Schulta Funeral Home in Birnamwood, with Pastor Derrald Hilderbrand officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Orlo D. Groves, 80, Birnamwood, died on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice.

He was born on June 15, 1932 in Gilman, the son of the late George and Bernice (Ferry) Groves. On February 27, 1952, Orlo was united in marriage to Dona Mae Clark in Milwaukee. She survives. Orlo served in the National Guard from 1949-1953.

He was employed as a truck driver for Greyhound Van Lines, Princl and Lund Trucking. Orlo was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was also a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Wausau.

In addition to his wife, Dona Mae, survivors include a son, Dean (Cindy) Groves, Hudson, WI; five daughters, Karen (Paul) Dobbe, Trego, WI, Loralee (Terry Coates) Groves and Coral (Lowell) Boreen all of Wittenberg, Julie (Mick Mathy) Groves, Portage, WI and Jill (Chuck) Davis, Lake Villa, IL and a sister, Elaine Emry.

In addition to his parents, Orlo was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis and two brothers, Del and Irving.

The Funeral service will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Pastor Derrald Hilderbrand, Minister of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
