Pingel, Ernestine #2 (11 MAY 1859 - 11 JAN 1944)

Mrs. Ernestine Pingel, 84, died at her home Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1944, after a brief illness from old age complications.

Mrs. Pingel was born in Polsen, Germany, May 11, 1859. She came to America in the year 1888 and located at Sheboygan, Wis. She was married to William Pingel and moved to Clark County in 1895 onto the present farm. To this union five children were born, William at home, Mary (Mrs. Otto Beckman) of Thorp; Anna (Mrs. Gilbert Hardy) of Withee; Minnie, who passed away in 1926, and Martha of Madison.

She also leaves to mourn her death, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) with Rev. Fresenborg of the German Reformed Church of Greenwood officiating. She was laid to rest in the Longwood Cemetery beside her husband who passed away in 1919, and the daughter Minnie.
