Shefchik, Frank (13 JUL 1856 - 15 SEP 1941)

Mr. Frank Shefchik, 85, died at the home of his sons, Charles and Emil, northeast of Loyal at 3:00 A. M. on Monday, Sept. 15, 1941.

Mr. Shefchik was born on July 13, 1856 in Bohemia. He came to Wisconsin with his parents in 1865 and lived in Kewaunee until 1910. He then purchased a farm in the Town of Beaver in Clark County where he spent the remaining years of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, one son, James and four daughters, Mary, Emily, Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Husek of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Frank (Katherine) Kadow of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, Wisconsin, on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 9:00 A. M. The Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiated and interment was made in the Loyal Catholic Cemetery.

Pall bearers, grandsons of the deceased, were Frank L. Bauer, Francis Shefchik, Joseph Kunesh, Martin Kvitek, Edmund Kadow, and Harold Kadow. The floral tributes were carried by Miss Irene Shefchik, Mrs. Woodrow Berger, Mrs. Ernest Zina, and Mrs. Joseph Kunesh.

Mr. Shefchik is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Matt (Anna) Kvitek of Manitowoc, Mrs. Thomas (Rose) Kunesh of Stangeville, Mrs. William (Caroline) Bauer of Colby, and Sister Leomitis, O. S. F., (Margaret) of Milwaukee; and five sons, Joseph, Charles, and Emil who reside in the Town of Beaver, and Frank and Albert of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The deceased is also survived by one brother, Matt Shefchik, of Kewaunee; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smidle and Miss Caroline Shefchik of Tisch Mills; and 43 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kunesh, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kunesh, Mrs. Ernest Zima, Mr. Matt Shefchik and son, Edward, and Alois and Simon Shefchik of Kewaunee; Mr. and Mrs. James Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Smith, and Mrs. P. J. Goemans of Depere; Mr. Frank Shefchik, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shefchik, Sister Leomitis, O. S. F., and Mr. Frank Kadow and sons, Harold and Edmund of Milwaukee, Mrs. Anna Kvitek and son, Martin of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. William Bauer and family of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bergner of Athens; Miss Irene Shefchik and Mr. Francis Shefchik of Eau Claire; and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Renz and Mr. George Renz of Watertown.
