Heck, Vera A. #3 (25 FEB 1925 - 7 MAR 2008)

Vera A. Heck, 83, Greenwood, died on Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville. The Rev. Kevin Henke officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood.

Vera a. Severson was born on Feb. 25, 1925, in Greenwood, to Vern and Louella (nee Stabnow) Severson. She received her education in the Greenwood and Loyal schools. She married Harold E. Heck on March 19, 1944, in Neillsville. She and her husband farmed in the town of York and Eaton. She was employed at Art Craft Mobile Homes, in Spencer, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include one son, Harold L. (Wilma) Heck, Greenwood; four grandchildren, Harold V., Christine, Stacy, and John; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester (Helen) Severson, Greenwood, and Douglas (Elaine) Severson, Withee; and two sisters, Ethel Thomas, Loyal and Alice Scott, Crystal Lake, Ill.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harold, on June 25, 1965; and one son, LaVern E. Heck, on June 18, 1967.

Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
