Kalsow, Theodore William Henry (22 April 1877 - 18 Feb. 1944)

Funeral services for Theodore William Henry Kalsow, 66, of the town of Weston, were held Friday afternoon at the family home, followed by services at the Globe Lutheran Church. The Rev. Adolph Schumann, pastor of the church, was the officiating clergyman. Burial took place in the Globe Cemetery.

Though afflicted for several years with a heart ailment, Mr. Kalsow was seemingly as well as usual, and had even expressed himself as feeling better than usual of late. On Tuesday afternoon, while helping with some light work at his home, he became suddenly very ill, and passed away with a few minutes.

Mr. Kalsow as born on April 22, 1877, in the town of Weston, and was the son of Frederick and Amelia (Kluckman) Kalsow. He grew to manhood on the home farm; the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow and received his education in the home school.

In 1903 he was united in marriage with Miss Ida Scheel, who survives him. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Kalsow lived one year on a farm in the town of Seif, and then purchased a piece of land near the home farm in the town of Weston. This land they worked to clear, and made it into a fine modern farm home, where they have resided the past 39 years.

Mr. Kalsow was a prominent farmer in Clark County, and was know as a man of integrity, filling an important place in his community and in his church. He was a lifelong member of the Globe Lutheran Church, and has served on its school board for 27 years.

Six children are left: Martin Kalsow, on the home farm: Hans Kalsow; town of Seif; Ray Kalsow, town of Weston; Esther, Mrs. Herbert Sternitzky, town of Lynn; Velma, Mrs. Marlin Bandelow, Neillsville; and Miss Clara, Neillsville. There are seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Albert Kalsow, Neillsville, and Lebrecht Kalsow, town of Weston, and a sister, Martha, Mrs. Fred Grap, Sr., town of Weston. His parents preceded him in death, also one child which died in infancy.

Pallbearers were Fred Grap, Jr., John Thoma, Alex Gall; Arnold Dudei, Roland Kalsow and Gerhardt Scheel. The Jaster Funeral home had charge of arrangements.
