DeSanto, Genevieve Winifred (Marriage - 25 June 1955)

Miss Genevieve Winifred DeSanto, daughter of Mrs. Art Neustad, Spencer, became the bride of Alvin James Rindquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rindquist, Spencer, during a 2 o’clock ceremony on Saturday, June 25 in the Spencer Methodist Church. The Rev. Harvey Schall officiated.

The bride wore a bolero jacket over her strapless gown which featured a fitted bodice of lace over taffeta. The full length skirt of nylon net over taffeta was highlighted with two net ruffles running throughout the skirt. Her fingertip length veil of nylon tulle was attached to a tiara of tiny seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Red Garnet roses and white pompoms made up her cascade bouquet.

Miss Yvonne Ringquist, a sister of the groom, Spencer, served the bride as maid of honor, and Miss Ardith Hendrickson, Spencer, was bridesmaid. They wore strapless gowns of blue and pink with fitted bodices of lace over taffeta. Their full length, fully gathered skirts of net over taffeta were highlighted with two horizontal net ruffles throughout the skirt. Tiny flowers were sprinkled on the half-hats of shirred blue and pink net.

Best man for the wedding was Terry Hebert, Unity, a cousin of the bride. Alfred Hauge, Madison, was groomsman. Wayne Seefeld, Spencer, an uncle of the bride and Ray Potter, Wisconsin Rapids, a brother-in-law of the groom, were ushers.

Soloists during the services were Miss Sue Graves and Miss Karen Nielsen, who sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and "I Promise You." They were accompanied by Miss Janis Nielsen, organist.

For the wedding, the bride’s mother chose an aqua colored nylon dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore a lavender colored linen dress with white accessories. Corsages of pink and white carnations and pink rosebuds completed their outfits.

The newlyweds greeted 150 guests at a reception and supper at the Methodist Church parlors.

Out of town guests at the wedding came from Madison, Unity, Colby, Dane, Baraboo, Rock Springs, Arlington, Wisconsin Rapids, Greenwood, Milwaukee, Mishicott, Grand Marais, Minn., and Spencer.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
