Ewert, Ida (12 Apr. 1868 - 23 Apr. 1954)

Mrs. Ida Ewert, 86, died at 1 p.m. last Thursday at her home here. She suffered a stroke 15 months ago and had been in ill health since.

The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wis. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiating. Burial was made in the Unity cemetery.

The Lutheran Ladies Choir sang "In The Garden" and "Softly and Tenderly" accompanied by Mrs. Henry Binning.

Pallbearers were Arlyn Ewert, Calvin Ewert, Myron Ewert, Emil Luchterhand, Donald Krause and Delmer Carlson.

Mrs. Donald Krause, Mrs. Delmer Carlson, Mrs. Emil Luchterhand, Mrs. Arlyn Ewert and Ruth Ewert, had charge of the flowers.

Relatives and friends were from Chilton, Minneapolis, Park Falls, Merrill, Marathon City, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Chili, Granton, Loyal, Waunakee, Tripoli, Chippewa Falls, and Dorchester, Wis.

Mrs. Ewert, nee Franke, was born April 12, 1868, in Cleveland. On April 4, 1889, she was married at Chilton to Jacob Siegrist, who died February 16, 1903. After their marriage the couple moved to Unity where she resided since.

On January 1, 1909 she was married to Carl Ewert at Unity. Mr. Ewert died March 8, 1931.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three sons, Frank and William Siegrist, Unity and Lester Ewert, Town of Brighton; a daughter, Mrs. Dora Ewert, Unity; two stepsons, Henry Ewert, Dorchester; and Arthur Ewert, Colby; 3 step-daughters, Mrs. Emma Finch, S.D.; Mrs. Louis Klein, Spencer; and Mrs. Elmer Carlson, Unity; 3 brothers, Oscar Franke, Chili; George Franke, Park Falls; and Otto Franke, Chilton; 5 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Rathert, and Mrs. Fred Reisner, Milwaukee; Mrs. William Wagner, Granton and Mrs. John Wagner and Mrs. Arno Nellesen, Chilton; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Two sons, a daughter, two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
