Kenyon, Edward (2 Jan. 1872 - 15 Mar. 1957)

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist Church, Spencer, for Edward Kenyon, 85, Spencer, who died at 1:40 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, from a head injury which he suffered late Thursday afternoon when he fell down the basement stairs at the farm home of a son, near Unity.

Mr. Kenyon’s vision had been failing and he apparently missed a step as he descended the stairs to the basement at the Bernard Kenyon home.

The body was taken to the Swarthout Funeral Home, Spencer, where it reposed until Sunday noon.

The Rev. Roger Knutson officiated at the services and burial was made in the West Spencer cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Korntved, Roy Hebert, Anton Korntved, Fred Griepentrog, Fred Domer and Everett Goodell.

Surviving besides his wife are the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Kleinschmidt, Spencer; Mrs. Rudolph (Bessie) Walker, Glenwood City; Lester Kenyon, Spencer; Keith Kenyon, Unity; Mrs. Lester (Pearl) Morrison, Spencer; Bernard Kenyon, Lee Kenyon, Unity; Lloyd Kenyon, Spencer; and Loraine Kenyon, Portage, 24 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. One son, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

*** Note: Edward Kenyon is buried in the West Spencer Cemetery, Sherman Township, Clark County, Wisconsin.
