Weier, Florence (Marriage - 26 Sept. 1928)

In a very pretty wedding ceremony, which was solemnized on Wednesday morning, Sept. 26, 1928, at 11:30 o’clock at the manse of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Miss Florence Weier of this city became the bride of August Ihlenfeldt of Abbotsford, a former resident of the town of Carlton. The marriage service was read by Rev. L. Baganz in the presence of immediate relatives and friends of the principals.

The bride wore a gown of brown velvet and a beautiful corsage bouquet of mixed flowers. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. T. W. Klemish, as matron of honor. Mrs. Klemish wore a gown of tan georgette crepe and she, too, had a corsage of mixed flowers.

Mr. Charles Schwen of Marshfield was best man at the ceremony.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weier, for the guests and later Mr. and Mrs. Ihlenfeldt departed for a wedding trip from which they will return to make their home in Abbotsford, Wis.

Both the bride and groom are very well known in this community and both are graduates of the local high school, the former with the Class of 1908 and the latter with the Class of 1902. Mrs. Ihlenfeldt has been teaching in public schools in this city and other communities in the state for some years past and she has many friends in those communities whom she has attracted by a charming personality. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ihlenfeldt of Carlton and has been located at Abbotsford where he holds a position as cashier in a bank.

Kewaunee friends will extend congratulations.

Mr. Ihlenfeldt came to Abbotsford and accepted the position as cashier of the Abbotsford Bank nearly a year ago and has certainly made many friends in the entire surrounding community. He has absented himself from our city on several occasions, but little did our people suspect when he departed last week that he was about to take the step of taking unto himself a wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Ihlenfeldt arrived in Abbotsford Monday. While Mrs. Ihlenfeldt is almost a total stranger in Abbotsford, the popularity and high esteem in which Mr. Ihlenfeldt is held in the community will make the matter of getting acquainted an easy one for the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Ihlenfeldt have rented the Wm. Thayer residence just west of the high school and as soon as they are settled will be at home to their many friends in this community.

The Tribune joins with the many others in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Ihlenfeldt many happy years of wedded life.
