Parkhill, William L. (22 Nov. 1850 - 12 June 1928)

Wm. L. Parkhill was born at Clockville, State of New York, November 22, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Verna Holden at Beldingville, Wis., June 12, 1928, aged 77 years, 7 months and 20 days.

He came to Wisconsin in March, 1867, and settled in the town of Shields, Marquette County. In the fall of 1872 he came to Colby and in 1873 located on a homestead in the town of Hull, Marathon County.

In January, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Victory Stacey of Colby, Wis. To this union was born fourteen children, six of whom together with his wife, preceded him in death, and he leaves to mourn his death three sons and five daughters: Mrs. Sadie Hosely of Boise, Idaho; George of Marshfield; Wallace of Medford; Mrs. Stella Austin of Turtle Lake; Claude of Dousman; Mrs. Verna Holden of Beldingville; Mrs. Mildred Wenzel of Muskegon, and Melvin, of Marshfield; also four brothers: Niles of Abbotsford; Geo. B. of Madison; Jessie F. of Superior; and Fred, of Salem, Oregon.

The remains of Mr. Parkhill arrived in Abbotsford Wednesday and funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon, June 14, 1928, Rev. M. Claude Durnam, pastor, officiating, with internment in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery; Owen Hughes, Emil Meyers, A. H. Barker, George Dickinson, Albert Provinski and John Hirsch, acting as pall bearers.

The relatives have the sincere sympathy of the many friends of this community.
