Klein, Isabelle M. (1915 - 2003)

Isabelle M. Klein, age 88, of Spencer entered eternal life at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Lowell Bolstad will officiate. William Allen will serve as soloist. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born May 13, 1915, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, a daughter of the late Adolph and Ida (Mellenthin) Stelzl. She graduated from Spencer High School. Isabelle was united in marriage to Gerhard Klein on May 30, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Isabelle farmed beside her husband, Gerhard. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer and a former member of the ladies aid.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Gerhard; her children, Sharon (Paul) Engstrom, Eau Claire, and Gary Klein, Spencer. One sister, Arlene Stecker, Arpin, further survives.

A brother, Arnold, and sisters, Adeline and Gertrude, preceded Isabelle in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Isabelle’s memory may be designated for support of the "Lutheran Hour," which airs on WDLB radio station, or the charity of your choice.
