Luepke, Fred (20 Apr. 1888 - 5 Jan. 1975)

Spencer, Wis. - Fred Luepke, of Spencer, died Sunday at the Neillsville, Wis. Memorial Nursing Home, where he had been residing for the past four years. He was 86 years of age.

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church here at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. William H. Ruhbusch, pastor, and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Born April 20, 1888, and educated at Spencer, Mr. Luepke worked for 42 years at the Farmer’s Co-op of Spencer. In 1955, he received an award for the longest term of service.

He served on the village board for 10-12 years and was a member of the fire department. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a trustee, deacon and on the church council.

His marriage on Oct. 23, 1913, at Butternut, was to the former Ella Krause, who preceded him in death Sept. 5, 1959.

Surviving him are three sons, Arnold, Spencer, and Elmer and Fred, both of Racine; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Verch, Spencer, 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
