Schultz, Mathilda (Marriage - June 28, 1930)

Markus - Schultz

Twp popular young people of Colby were united in marriage Saturday when Miss Mathilda Schultz became the bride of Rodney Markus at a service performed at 3 o’clock at Zion’s Lutheran church by the pastor, the Rev. O. H. Hoffmann.

The bride was lovely in a gown of white satin, and a long veil of tulle with a headdress. She carried a bouquet of roses and lilies-of-the-valley. Her sister, Miss Esther Schultz, who attended as maid of honor, was attired in coral satin and her bouquet consisted of carnations and sweet peas. Robert Strathmann was best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, Mr. Louise Schultz, where dinner was served to 65 immediate relatives. The rooms were beautifully decorated in pink and white with steamers and garden flowers.

Mrs. Markus has always resided her and Mr. Markus has been editor of the Colby Phonograph the past 10 years. For the present they will make their home with the bride’s mother on Third street.
