Cannon, Cora D. (25 APR 1865 - 10 DEC 1944)

Mrs. Cora D. Cannon, who has been a patient at the Victory Hospital at Stanley for nearly ten weeks, died at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10th, 1944, aged 79 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Mrs. Cannon, nee Gwinn, was born in Black River Falls on April 25, 1865, and was married Dec. 4, 1889 to Chester C. Cannon, who died the following April 4th.

She taught school in the vicinity of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) before her marriage and after her husband’s death resided with her father and three brothers at Loyal, all of whom preceded her in death. The last few years she lived at the home of her nephew, Hugh Gwinn, at Loyal and the past year and a half has been with her cousin, Mrs. Isaac Sisco at Thorp.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church at Loyal at two o’clock, Rev. M.E. Taylor officiating, and the Order of Eastern Star conducting its rites. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
