Eleanor Atteln was born in March, 1891, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Dott). Unfortunately, her mother died that next year (1863 - 1892) at the early age of twenty-nine.  About 1900,

her father moved to Loyal Wisconsin.  By 1905, Eleanor had joined him there and attended school as she grew into a fine young woman.  When she was eighteen years of age, her father also died (16 Mar 1859 - 16 Jun 1909). This was less than ten years following the family's move from Norwalk, Wisconsin.  After that time Eleanor and her older sisters, Theresa (Jun 1886) and Clara (13 Jul 1889 - 16 Jul 1961) were left to face life without the advice their parents could have given.
