Simek, Frank J. #2 (18 Jan. 1889 - 7 Jan. 1968)

Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) morning at 10 o’clock From St. Mary’s Catholic church in Neillsville for Frank J. Simek, 78, who died Sunday at the home of his daughter in Wausau.

The Rev. George M. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville cemetery.

Mr. Simek was born January 18, 1889, in Chicago, Ill. He attended schools there and moved to the Neillsville area in 1928, locating on a farm in the town of York. The family later moved to Neillsville, where he worked as an interior and exterior decorator until his retirement in 1960.

Four months ago Mr. and Mrs. Simek moved to Wausau to make their home with their daughter and her family.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and its Holy Name Men’s society.

A rosary service was said Wednesday evening at the Georgas funeral home.

Mr. Simek was married May 11, 1913, to the former Mary Storek in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife; two children, William Simek of Neillsville and Mrs. Harold Gault of Wausau; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ruda and Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Lehner, both of Chicago, Ill; two brothers, Method and Cyril, both of Chicago; and three grandchildren.
