Czernicki, Alice (17 MAR 1945)

In a double ring ceremony at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, Milwaukee, on Saturday, March 17, 1945, Miss Alice Czernicki, daughter of Mr. Jos. Czernicki of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Pfc. John Osowski, Camp Blanding, Florida, son of Vincent Osowski of Thorp. Father Marion Ciesliewicz officiated at the service.

The bride was given away at the altar by her father. She was attired in a white satin and lace fashioned gown, worn with a fingertip illusion veil, which fell from a scalloped tiara of orange blossoms. White carnations and snapdragons composed her bouquet.

Preceding the bride and her attendants were Miss Marie Czernicki, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, and Miss Irene Hodorowski, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor. Both were attired in ice-blue marquisette gowns, fashioned with fitted bodices attached to full skirts. They carried bouquets of pink gladiolas and snapdragons.

Little June Zielinski, cousin of the bride, acted as flower girl in a long peach taffeta dress, carrying a colonial bouquet of roses.

Thomas Osowski of thorp, Wis., brother of the groom, acted as best man. He wore the conventional dark blue suit. The groom wore his army uniform.

A reception was held at seven o’clock in the evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Leski, aunt and uncle of the bride.

The newlyweds left Monday for Jacksonville, Fla., where they expect to make their home, while the groom is stationed in nearby Camp Blanding.

Pfc. Osowski, as you remember, returned to the States last July, after being in the Southwest Pacific area for twenty-six months.
