Rudkin, Geraldine (12 MAY 1945)

Miss Geraldine Rudkin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rudkin of Black River Falls, became the bride of Henry Coates Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coates Sr. of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), in a ceremony performed by Rev. Spencer at the Congregational Church Parsonage at Owen at 10:00 o’clock, Saturday morning, May 12th, 1945.

Clifford Hansen and Lorraine Thompson, cousin of the bride, of Thorp, attended the couple as best man and bridesmaid.

The bride was attired in a brown suit with a mist green blouse, brown hat and glives. Her bouquet was of rosebuds and gardenias. The bridesmaid wore a gold suit with brown accessories and a corsage of gardenias.

The bride’s mother was dressed in black and Mrs. Coates wore a gold suit with a corsage of gardenias.

The groom and his attendant wore brown suits.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Phillips of Thorp and thirty guests were present for the occasion.

After a honeymoon to be spent in the southern part of the state, the newlyweds will reside in the Town of Reseburg, where they will engage in farming.

The bride is a graduate of the Black River Falls High School class of 1941 and is employed at Papierniak Department Store of Thorp. The groom is a graduate of the Thorp High School class of 1939.

Out of town guests present at the wedding festivities were: Mr. and Mrs. George Rudkin, Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. George Badzinski, Spencer; Mrs. Bert Hohn, Cottage Grove.
