Graham, Mae (16 JUN 1945)

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 1945, Mae Graham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Graham, and Norval Boie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Boie, all of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage at Epiphany Lutheran Church at Stanley, with Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating at the double ring ceremony.

Miss Carol McGinnis, cousin of the groom, of Eau Claire, sang two sons, "Oh, Perfect Love" and " Oh Promise Me," during the ceremony. She was accompanied by Miss Catherine Aumann at the organ.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was beautifully attired in a white sheer chiffon marquisette gown. Her dress was princess style with a sweetheart neckline and lace insertions at the shoulders. Her only jewelry, a gold cross necklace was a gift of the groom. She wore a fingertip veil, edged with lace which fell from a coronet fashioned with seed pearls, and her flowers were of white roses and carnations tied with white streamers fashioned with lilies of the valley.

Her two bridesmaids were her sister, Mrs. Ben Ponick of Stanley, and the groom’s sister, June, of Menomonie. Mrs. Ponick wore an old rose taffeta floor length gown with matching blusher veil. The groom’s sister wore a blue net over satin dress, also with matching veil. Each wore a single strand of pearls, which were the bride’s gifts to her attendants.

The groom wore a blue-green suit with a white rose boutonniere. His attendants, Donald Henke and Ben Ponick, also wore blue suits with carnation boutonniere.

Mrs. Graham, mother of the bride, chose a flowered silk print and Mrs. Boie, the groom’s mother, wore an orchid crepe, two-piece dress. Each had a shoulder corsage of sweet peas.

A reception supper was held at 5:30 at the home of the bride to about 80 guests. In the evening, at Mileaway Pavilion, a shower and wedding dance was well attended and many lovely gifts were received by the newlyweds.

Mr. and Mrs. Boie will make their home on the farm adjoining that of his parents.

Out of town guests who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Edwardson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy F. bye and daughters, Delores and Bonnie, Miss Carol McGinnis, Mrs. Vernon Ramberg and Mrs. Lillian C. Boie, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. Carl Clements and daughter, Mavis of Perry, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Misfeldt of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Ora Hickox, Mrs. Jeff Frazee and Rev. and Mrs. J.N. Midtlien of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Graham of Onalaska.
