Stryk, Anton (12 JUN 1860 - 29 JUN 1945)

Anton Stryk, 85, a former Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, died at his home in Chicago, Ill., on June 29, 1945, of infirmities of old age.

Mr. Stryk was born in Poland on June 12, 1860. He came to America in 1885 and in 1887 was united in marriage to Theresa Scerbinska in New York. They resided at Bermanton, N.Y. for a short while and Duryea, Pa. for a few years before coming to Thorp in March 1900. Mr. Stryk became engaged in farming for several years and then operated a sawmill near Thorp and later in Lublin and Redville. He moved to Keroma, Florida in 1919. Mrs. Stryk passed away in May 1921.

He is survived by three sons, Malen of Lublin, Stanley of Milwaukee and Michael of St. Paul; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Royeski, Oakland, Calif., Viola, Chicago, Mrs. Sophia Majerus, Ft. Atkinson, Wis., Mrs. Tecla Rue, Hibbing, Minn., and Mrs. Charlotte Stewart, Withee.

Funeral services were held at the Ellison Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. June 30th, in Chicago, and he was laid to rest beside his wife in the Rosehill Cemetery in that city.
