Kopacz, Genevieve (24 NOV 1945)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church on Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 1945, when Father Raymond Rucki joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, Leon Nowobielski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Nowobielski, and Genevieve Kopacz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kopacz of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white long sleeved gown with fingertip veil and pearl crown. She carried a large bouquet of white chrysanthemums and roses tied with white streamers. She wore a gold locket, the groom’s gift.

The couple was attended by Clarence Nowobielski, brother of the groom, and Beatrice Koziel, who was dressed in a blue net gown with blue blusher to match. Another attending couple was Mat Kopacz, brother of the bride, and Lorraine Strzok, the groom’s cousin, who wore a pink net dress with pink blusher. Miss Masmena Kopacz, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of blue net with matching blusher. The bridesmaids and maid of honor carried bouquets of white chrysanthemums and each wore a gold cross, the bride’s gift.

The groom and his attendants were attired in tuxedos and wore white carnation boutonnieres.

A reception was held at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp, after the ceremony, attended by many relatives and friends.

The happy couple spent their honeymoon in Chicago.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Joseph Nowobielski, Alex Baginski, Marie Nowobielski, Mrs. Edward Larkowski and son Roger, Fr. Kaluki, Pvt. Alfred Wadas, Mrs. Novak, of Chicago; Mr. and Ms. Stanley Prokopek and son Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Koziel and 1st Sgt.
