Atkinson, Beatrice (21 APR 1945)

Miss Beatrice Atkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc D. Atkinson of Hibbing, Minn., and Sgt Thomas P. Merrill, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Merrill of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage Saturday afternoon, April 21, 1945, at 5:00 p.m. at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen, Rev. Ronald Ortmayer officiating.

Miss Sidney Toraason at the organ, played the wedding march.

Mr. Harvey Weddig, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, while Harvey Weddig attended the groom. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Marc D. Atkinson.

Mrs. Merrill is a teacher of nursing in San Diego, Calif.

Sgt. Merrill has just returned after thirty-seven months service in the India, China, Burma Theater.

Sgt. And Mrs. Merrill left on a wedding trip to St. Paul, Duluth and Hibbing, and then east to Nutley, N.J., after which they will go to Miami, Florida, where Sgt. Merrill reports May 8th for reassignment.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the house of Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Merrill.

Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Marc D. Atkinson and daughter Georgia of Hibbing, Minn.; Mrs. M.W. Smith and daughter, Miss Elizabeth Smith of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Ganong and Miss Marie Moe of Eau Claire; Mrs. O.H. Cole of St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Petersen and sons, George and Danny, and Mrs. Giertz Petersen of Cornell, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Meyers of Withee.
