Miss Irene Mauel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Mauel, became the bride of Pfc. Cap.

The bride, presented by her father in marriage, was beautifully gowned in a white taffeta dress with a fitted bodice, a square neckline and a full shirred overskirt of net. Her fingertip veil of illusion was held with orange blossoms. She carried a pearl Prayer book to which streamers were affixed and a small bouquet of Godfrey calla lilies. She wore a lovely string of pearls given to her by the groom.

As her attendants she chose for her maid of honor her sister Rosalie, and bridesmaids another sister Alice and Agnes Lehnen, a sister of the groom. All of her attendants wore gowns of identical design of pink, yellow and blue taffeta respectively, with a fitted bodice and full shirred skirts of net. Each wore bonnets and mitts to match their dresses and carried shower bouquets of carnations, daisies and baby breath.

The groom chose as his best man a cousin, John Kestler of Chelsea, and groomsmen Henry Mauel Jr., a brother of the bride, and Pfc. Edward Davey of Prentice.

During the ceremony several organ selections were played by Mrs. W.K. Doonan and Betty Devine sang the beautiful selections, "Ave Marie."

The bride’s mother wore a two piece crepe dress of wheat color and a corsage of Lily Pons roses and baby breath. Mrs. Lehnen, the mother of the groom, wore a dress of white printed sheer and a corsage of Lily Pons roses and baby breath.

A bridal dinner was served in the dining room of the Woodland Hotel at one o’clock for 50 guests. Later a reception was held at the home of the bride from two to four p.m., after which the newlyweds paid short visits to several friends in the city and then left on a trip through Northern Wisconsin. Mrs. Lehnen wore a white two piece suit as her going away dress.

Pfc. Lehnen is stationed at Camp Ritchie, Maryland and in 2 weeks his bride will join him there, where they will make their future home.

The bride was graduated from Owen High School with the class of 1940 and is also a graduate of the Cosmetic School of Arts at Eau Claire. At present she is employed as a beautician at the Robert Simon Beauty Salon in Milwaukee, a position which she will leave in ten days.

Pfc. Lehnen has attended the Owen High School and St. John’s University at Collegeville, Minn. For the past 3 years he has been a member of the armed forces.
